چکیده

This work combined a micromorphological and phytochemical study approach on Lavandula angustifolia Mill. cultivated at the Ghirardi Botanic Garden (Toscolano Maderno, BS, Italy). The observations leaves flowers revealed occurrence of three trichome morphotypes: peltate, short- medium-stalked capitate. histochemical dyes evidenced huge production terpenes by peltate capitates, while short-stalked capitates were responsible for hydrophilic secretions. survey concerned characterization volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted flowers, along with analysis composition essential oil (OE) from flowering aerial parts. Oxygenated monoterpenes dominated both leaf flower profiles (65.66% vs 45.97%). main 1,8-cineole, p-cymene borneol; linalool acetate, β-caryophyllene flowers. 1,8-Cineole was also dominant exclusive compound in leaves, acetate EO characterized linalool, 4-terpineol, lavandulol β-caryophyllene. Finally, evaluations about VOC ecology, biological activity sensory qualities proposed based literature. set information made available to visitors through realization dedicated labelling, coupling scientific research educational missions an Open Science context.
